This first image shows Eigo Kasahara, who was planning director on the original Shenmue games, being interviewed at the SEGA head office. Kasahara also worked on the Japan localisation of the re-released Shenmue I & II, and has participated in several Shenmue related events including last month's Shenmue fan meeting that was held in Yokosuka.
Next is a still of Hiroaki Takeuchi, Animation Producer for Shenmue III, who also worked on the original Shenmue games. Takeuchi has also accompanied Yu Suzuki on stage for his recent talks about Shenmue III such as at the 2018 Tokyo Game Show and the G-Fusion Event in Xiamen, and always have numerous behind-the-scenes anecdotes to share.
The next shot shows the suburbs above Dobuita, capturing its winding paths, apartment buildings and stairways. (Read more about the day's filming in Yokosuka).
A colorful array of flowers in plastic containers at the flower shop in Dobuita that is said to be the basis of the Aida Florist in the game.
This final shot will have all fans dying to learn what Yu Suzuki is showing on screen... we'll have to wait until the documentary is out!
The team continues to be hard at work on the documentary, which is scheduled for release later this year, with one of the next steps being to put English subtitles to the Japanese interviews.
