Exclusive Pre-Order Bonus at SEGA Japan's Online Shop | Shenmue 1&2 Limited Edition

SEGA Japan's official online shop is offering a special exclusive bonus, while stocks last, for customers who pre-order the Japan Limited Edition version of Shenmue I & II (to be released on November 22nd).

The bonus takes the form of a custom-designed "QUO" prepaid card to the value of 500 yen in a custom envelope.

QUO cards can be used to pay for items at convenience stores in Japan, as well as a number of other shops.

QUO cards resemble phone cards and come in many designs.

This bonus was created as a tribute to the daily allowance of 500 yen that Ine-san leaves out for Ryo each day in the first Shenmue game.

The description on the SEGA store site says (our translation):

"An exclusive Sega Store bonus recreating the revolutionary Allowance System that left a deep impression on players of Shenmue Chapter One ~Yokosuka~. This original 500-yen QUO card, inspired by the 500-yen allowance you receive each morning, will come in its own custom-made allowance envelope."

Update (Nov 13th): a preview image of the card and envelope are now available, as shown below.

Just like in the game, the envelope is white and has the word "allowance" on it, and written on the QUO card itself is an expression of thanks, as uttered by Ryo when he picks it up each morning (literally: "thank you always").

The allowance envelope in the game has the word おこづかい (meaning "allowance") written on the front.

Overseas Delivery

The online shop only delivers within Japan, so people ordering from overseas will need to make use of a forwarding service.

The price is the standard list price of 6,469 yen which includes tax.

The cost of delivery within Japan is 600 yen.

A note regarding delivery: the shop page states that shipping is free for a combined order of 7,000 yen or more. If you attempt to add a small item to take advantage of this, you are informed at check-out that the Shenmue I & II Limited Edition package is not able to be combined with other items.
Update: trial-and-error reveals that if you order multiple copies of the Limited Edition package itself then you do qualify for free shipping.
